We made it to August ya’ll!!!!…and still dealing with COVID *eye roll*, buts it’s okay. We are making adjustments and “keep on keeping on (ya’ll remember that song that kept singing in A Different World??)

Anyway, we still out here trying to be cute, wearing makeup under our masks, IN THIS HEAT! I’m sure some of us find ourselves looking real greasy after a few hours. Or you just feel like you have so much on your skin the makeup, the masks, the heat, the sweat. In addition to that, some of us are experiencing some skin irritation from the masks. I have some lighter makeup alternatives that may help make it easier to be cute in summer.

  1. If you’ve been on top of your skincare (I’m staring at you!) through winter months or even the past 3 months your skin may be pimple free, healthy-looking, and glowing. If so (go you!), you may want to consider skipping foundation all together during these hot months. For example, Tamara Mowry-Housley has BEAUTIFUL skin. I’ve noticed when she posts pictures of herself in none working setting or events she doesn’t have on foundation. She has even admitted to not really much makeup outside of work. I remember one photo of her, she had on a red lip and she looked so beautiful. I thought she had on foundation but nope!
    1. If you don’t feel like your skin is as even as Tamera’s maybe you could try a tinted moisturizer instead. A tinted moisturizer with an SPF gives you very light coverage but still helps to even out your skin tone. Feels very lightweight on the skin and doesn’t have that effect of looking like ice cream running down your face when you sweat as foundations can.
  1. If you feel like you need the coverage a foundation provides, I recommend Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear foundation. I absolutely love this foundation. It feels so lightweight and it is buildable in coverage.

  1. Try using a blotting powder or tissues. I use the blotting powder by Fenty ( I know Fenty Fenty Fenty…) but hey when the product is good, it’s GOOD. I don’t mind blotting powders and tissues. It’s a
quick way to touch up and keep it movin’.

  1. Another tip to consider is maybe leaving the lashes off and enhance your natural lashes with mascara. Mascara really does work ya’ll. I especially love Lancome’s Waterproof Monsieur Big Mascara, legit no lashes needed with this amazing mascara. Also, mascara now comes in different colors, which Lancome also has. Color mascara is really cute and fun. I’ve worn blue and purple myself!

Almost forgot, instead of lipstick maybe opt for gloss. Gloss is it for me in summer! It gives you the youthful and juicy look. Who don’t wanna look juicy in summer 🙂

Being cute in summer is a whole different type of challenge but its summer and that’s when most of us want to be out in our cutest, sexiest vibe! Give some of these lighter makeup options and try and let me know how you like them. Or tag me in your pics on IG @RN_BEAUTY87
