In light of the latest gross use of power, another black man has lost his life at the hands of law enforcement.

George Floyd, 46, a black man, who was essentially suffocated due to the excessive force of four Minneapolis police officers, died late Monday afternoon. A punishment, that certainly didn’t fit the crime, if one was even committed.

The officers responsible, Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J Alexander Kueng, two of whom had prior “excessive force” cases brought against them in the past, were fired the following day. Not charged, ONLY fired.

And one Black Mother in particular is not being mum about it.

In a recent Instagram photo, a black mother, who goes by the alias Dr. Kiesha G (33) displays all 10 of her rifles, standing her ground as her son looks on from the window. She is a member of the National African American Gun Association and her powerful image is making its rounds on the web and getting black mothers and men alike IN-FORMATION.

The comments section was on fire too, with Black women locked and loaded:

“We ready baby!”

“Already got mine”

“By any means necessary, sis!”

“Shout out to women making moves!”

In a virtual summit with @girltek legendary activist Angela Davis and Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter, Dr. Bernice A King, among others, highlights the fact women have always been on the front lines.

I think we [women] are great strategist…. when you think about the movement my father led… my father didn’t start a boycott, it wasn’t the men who started the boycotts… it was the women who had the idea…it was the Women’s Political Council… we can’t forget that.

-Dr. Bernice A. King

We are here as a direct consequence of the collective imagination of black women.

Dr. Angela Davis

We are tired of putting our husbands, sons, fathers, uncles, nephews in the ground before their time. We are frustrated, being fearful of our Black men dying unnecessarily and calling it anything other than murder. Followed by dated, superfluous information meant only to smear the character of the victims in an attempt to justify UN-justifiable actions.

Black women make incredible things happen, PERIODT. This will be no different.
